About The Position

The Lead Searcher role involves assembling title packages, searching for tax documentation, and performing other research related to escrow and title closings. This work can be performed in an office, title plant, or remotely while traveling to court houses, municipalities, and other government entities. The position combines leadership and search responsibilities, requiring deep knowledge and understanding to interface with management and handle varied, complex work across multiple file/product types with broad geographic knowledge of state practices and requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong MS skill set
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of company terminology, search department procedures and tools
  • People/leadership/interpersonal skills
  • Complex problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible to changing schedules and demands
  • Solid administrative skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work and activities of others

  • Provide training
  • May provide input to hiring decisions and performance management process and process efficiency improvements
  • Conduct title research to compile search packages
  • Investigate and interpret tax records in order to determine tax liability
  • Compile and report information to management
  • Assemble title packages
  • Search for tax documentation or perform other research related to escrow and title closings
  • Perform all the work that the unit supports; search multiple file/product types
