About The Position

Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lead Residential Service Provider provides support to employees providing care in a 9 bed Transitional Living Program. The program provides step-down transition housing and services to individuals currently hospitalized at a state psychiatric facility. The participants are supported in developing personal, community integration, and independent living skills. Lead Residential Service Provider's work involves supervision of services through a team of direct care staff; Lead Residential Service Provider is responsible for direct care, supervision, and support of consumers in residential supervised services. This includes handling staffing call-outs, emergencies, and other staffing needs. Ensuring appropriate staffing ratios are available at all times. Interacting positively with staff, consumers, families, management, service providers, and the community. Ensuring that food and supplies are available, appropriate, and adequate to meet the needs of the people in the home, routine medication and personal care are provided. Regularly inspecting the interior and exterior of the physical structure and reporting concerns regarding maintenance, repairs, furnishings, and security. Assisting in planning and ensuring appropriate staffing for recreational activities, shopping, and appointments. Assisting in identifying and positively resolving staffing issues, personal interactions, work concerns, or other problems. Ensuring all staff properly complete documentation to record daily activities, incidents, behaviors, awake overnight, health concerns, meals, home maintenance concerns, and vehicle problems. Ensuring the home is safe and all safety measures are in place. Inspecting the vehicle for cleanliness, safety, tank half-full, and appropriate usage. Immediately notifying the supervisor of anything that affects the health, safety, and well-being of any person. Work also involves assisting in routine clerical duties. Ensures program services comply with local, state, and federal guidelines.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License (required)
  • Experience in direct care of the Disabled, SMI, and/or ID programs, preferably involving work with the mentally ill; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities (required)
  • Bachelor's degree with the ability to obtain QMHP (qualified mental health professional) (required)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the program is adequately staffed.
  • Assigns and reviews work; evaluates staff performances, and schedules staff coverage.
  • Provides adequate training for staff development, participates in staff development training, and prepares and leads staff meetings.
  • Documents all supervision and training activities according to all internal and external policies .
  • Ensures facility maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep occur and are managed.
