Under general supervision, provides a variety of appropriate chore services to elderly and/or disabled Tribal members. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide special chore services to eligible senior or disabled Tribal members in a caring and compassionate manner. Responsible for intakes, providing narratives, case notes, FTDM and visits with APS. Conduct home visits. Clean and assist with elders homes. Clean and maintain assigned vehicle. Changes bed linens, washes and irons laundry and cleans rooms. Purchases, prepares and serves food for client, following special dietary needs as necessary. Assists clients into and out of bed, automobile, or wheelchair, to lavatory and up and down stairs. Administers prescribed oral medications under written direction of physician or as directed by home care nurse. May accompany ambulatory clients outside home serving as aide. May read to client or play cards or other games as appropriate. Performs variety of miscellaneous duties as requested such as obtaining household supplies, food and running errands. Maintains records of services performed and of observed condition of client. May schedule doctor or dentist appointments, may make travel arrangements, or arrange for client to join other seniors on outings. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
