About The Position

The Lead Mental Health Worker is a direct care position with some supervisory duties that will provide for the safety and well-being of each resident within the home and facilitate community involvement/interaction in cooperation with the residents, staff and administration. The Lead Mental Health Worker will facilitate implementation of general and specific household and individual routine/programming while serving as a role model for the resident population. The Lead Mental Health Worker provides a continuum of services, including system advocacy, informational/referral, supportive counseling, family and resident education, and crisis intervention / stabilization. Responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough search for relevant information when approaching problems; grasps pertinent issues in all their complexity; carefully weighs the impact of broad range of related issues or factors.
  • Develop and implement behaviorally measurable treatment plans for each resident in order to provide with both appropriate services and / or interventions.
  • Thinks creatively; generates new ideas and initiative; challenges the status quo in thought and action when appropriate; inspires creative thinking in others and considers their ideas and suggestions with an open mind.
  • Accurately assess resident needs and documents in bi-monthly review.
  • Monitor service provision through intensive case management to ensure receipt of quality and appropriate services/interventions.
  • Develop therapeutic alliances with adults, works with residents to resolve issues of therapy relationships.
  • Incorporate understanding of medication management as it supports the overall clinical plan.
  • Supervise the self-administration of client medication.
  • Ascertains through questions that clients’ understand his/her prescribed medication – dose, side effects, etc., as guided by a registered nurse.
