About The Position

Step into a high-impact technical leadership role at the center of how we keep engines flying. As the Repair Tooling Design Leader, you are the go-to engineering expert for special inspection and repair tooling used on engine component repairs. You will own the creation, improvement, and support of tooling that enables safe, efficient, and high-quality repairs across our operations. This role blends hands-on mechanical design with technical leadership and continuous improvement. You’ll work on both new solutions and enhancements to existing products and processes, directly influencing safety, quality, delivery, and cost. With room for autonomy, you’ll use your experience to make sound engineering judgments, guide team members, and help shape how repair tooling is designed and deployed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing or repair-related processes experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering ,Mechanical Engineering Technology, manufacturing or repair-related processes
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Engineer repair special tooling
  • Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of repair special tooling using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements (with a focus on mechanical engineering).
  • Become a technical subject matter expert
  • Develop and deepen your knowledge of engine component repair, using your prior experience and technical expertise to help drive and execute policy and strategy.
  • Connect engineering with business impact

  • Partner with manufacturers through builds, validate and troubleshoot equipment on the shop floor, and ensure tooling works as intended in real-world conditions.
  • Drive improvement projects
  • Lead and support special projects aimed at improving design processes, tooling performance, and overall quality.
  • Travel with purpose
  • Occasionally travel to support tooling validations, resolve issues, and connect directly with users of your designs.
