About The Position

The Lead Relief Operator-BFP-Sawmill at The Beasley Group is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient operation of sawmill machinery and equipment. This role is pivotal in maintaining production schedules, optimizing machine performance, and ensuring safety standards are met in an industrial setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in industrial operations or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sawmill or similar industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining sawmill machinery and equipment.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an industrial setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of sawmill operations and the ability to manage production processes efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues promptly.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
  • Proficient in using industrial machinery and tools specific to sawmill operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and management.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in production.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor sawmill machinery to ensure optimal performance and output.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of operators, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to prevent downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that may arise during operations.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Assist in training and developing new operators to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments to coordinate activities and resolve issues promptly.
