About The Position

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. We are seeking an expert technical lead to embed with the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) National Cyber Range (NCR). In this role, you will be the trusted advisor shaping the future of cybersecurity testing for the Department of War (DoW). You will guide the strategic planning and hands-on execution of advanced cybersecurity evaluations. Your primary mission will be to direct comprehensive vulnerability analyses, penetration tests, and full-scope red team operations against the nation's most mission-critical systems. In this role, you will be expected to operate at the intersection of deep technical analysis and strategic impact. You will not only oversee high-consequence cybersecurity tests but also translate your findings into defensible reports that guide senior-level decisions. The challenge spans the full technology stack—from enterprise networks and industrial control systems (ICS) to low-level electronic buses and embedded platforms. We need a systems-level thinker who can pivot from analyzing complex technical risk to articulating clear operational impact. This is a dynamic environment where you must constantly challenge assumptions as technologies and adversary tactics evolve. To succeed, you must have a broad IT foundation, a passion for rapid learning, and an intense curiosity for the inner workings of U.S. weapons platforms, offensive/defensive cyber systems, and the very latest exploitation techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in cybersecurity, test and evaluation, information technology, or related defense systems engineering roles
  • Demonstrated depth and range in information technology, with the ability to rapidly master unfamiliar systems and technologies
  • Demonstrated commitment to mission ownership and high-trust customer engagement
  • Proven ability to prioritize and drive multiple complex technical efforts concurrently in high-tempo mission environments
  • Able to operate effectively with minimal direction and oversight
  • Must currently hold, or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire, an Advanced DoD 8140 certification

Nice To Haves

  • Red Team testing or advanced cyber exploitation experience strongly preferred
  • OCSP certification
  • Experience supporting Department of War (DoW) Test and Evaluation (T&E) organizations within operational or acquisition test environments
  • Working knowledge of DoW cybersecurity compliance and assessment frameworks, including eMASS and/or Xacta, ACAS/Nessus, SCAP compliance scanning, DISA Benchmarks, STIG Viewer, and POA&M development
