About The Position

Lead Radiology Technologist at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, CA. This position is Full time and will work 12-hour, Day shifts. Under the general direction of the Department Manager/Director, and in collaboration with the medical directors of radiology, staff radiologists, and other members of the medical staff, the Lead Technologist is responsible for limited supervisory activities. Provides day-to-day supervision of Imaging services and assists the Manager/Director with those supervisorial functions for which the director is accountable. The Lead Technologist is technically and clinically competent in radiologic technology for all ages served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Demonstrates and adheres to department standards and serves as a clinical and technical resource to department staff. Clinical and technical responsibilities account for 75% or more of worked hours. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality assurance and organizational improvement activities. Requirements

  • Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association.
  • California Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire.
  • 5 years of experience in a hospital-based Radiology setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire
  • Advanced certification in a secondary modality (i.e., CT, MRI, Mammography, etc.) upon hire.
  • Supervisory experience.
