About The Position

One of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health and orthopedic trauma. The institute’s Downtown Complex brings the whole spectrum of orthopedic and spine care under one roof and includes an orthopedic specialty hospital featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 advanced OR suites, and a research and innovation center with a bio skills lab and 3D printer. Institute physicians also lead a robust clinical research and education program. An adjacent medical pavilion houses a 63-exam-room outpatient clinic, imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and ambulatory surgery center. The institute also holds official medical roles with multiple athletic teams, sporting events and venues. The Radiology Technologist Lead directs daily workflow and assists the Imaging Services Supervisor, Imaging Services Manager, and/or Imaging Services Director. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
  • One (1) year of experience in Radiology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with education and training of all team members.
  • Directs and assists with daily workflow of the Imaging team to include patient flow, supply ordering, staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
  • Plans and prioritizes exam scheduling and processing that support the needs of the patients and physicians.
  • Ensures images meet the established Quality Control standards.
  • Assist manager in holdings self and team accountable for producing quality images, detailed documentation and charge management through the Quality Control Program.
  • Provides input to supervisor for evaluations/coaching plans.
  • Actively participates in departmental projects and process improvements initiatives.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self and others.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
