About The Position

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Regularly assigns, instructs, and checks the work of employees. Performs duties of the appropriate Imaging Technologies in assigned area. Functions as a preceptor. Orients new employees according to department's standards. Serves as information resource for staff. Routinely answers patient care, equipment and technical questions including the PACS. Assists in problem solving. Provides clinical leadership. Assures appropriate, effective utilization of IDXrad system. Develops and presents in-services in coordination with Imaging Supervisors and Manager, Imaging. Implements daily staff schedules and holiday coverage to ensure adequate level of staffing in area of responsibility. Participates in reviewing films/images and makes recommendations for quality assurance/quality control. Collects data and presents report to the Radiology QA meeting. Reviews and reports daily operational status of equipment; Initiates repair service calls and documents malfunctions. Coordinates flow of patients within specialty area. Assigns patient procedures to staff. Assures appropriate utilization of Radiation Protection prescribed by safety standards is utilized. Understands and complies with all safety, fire, disaster, evacuation and chemical safety procedures; reviews departmental policy and procedure manual annually. Assists supervisor in evaluating employees’ competency and year performance evaluation. Monitors supplies and places orders to replenish supplies. In supervisor's absence (or when requested), may be assigned charge operational, technical, and clinical responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school; registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) And one year of experience in applicable modality OR A minimum of 6 months of technical experience in the applicable modality AND previous leadership experience OR equivalent education/experience.
