About The Position

The Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector monitors and evaluates all maintenance actions to ensure safe and reliable aircraft are provided in accordance with current technical manuals, directives, and instructions applicable to the maintenance program. Essential Responsibilities: Develops and implements quality assurance and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies. Briefs and debriefs pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights. Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience. Performs audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities. Monitors timeliness and applicability of aircraft maintenance technical data and technical library. Reviews maintenance source document, aircraft inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action. Performs compliance inspections on aircraft in accordance with Air Force Instructions, FAA directive and Original Equipment Manufacturer’s manuals. Performs quality assurance trend analysis to determines Special Interest Items to improve maintenance processes and procedures. Performs special investigation, accident and safety investigation to determine root cause and corrective actions. Assists in preparation of Quality Assurance Monthly Data Requirements List (CDRL's). Provides technical guidance, as required to other QA Inspector(s) and Aircraft Mechanics. Plan the daily workflow and ensure accurate documentation of the maintenance and repair of aircraft and aircraft components and assigns work for other inspectors. All other position related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years general experience in aircraft maintenance and/or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Must have broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and Air Force technical publications.
  • Must have a working knowledge of aircraft safety requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills.
  • Must be familiar with Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to retrieve and input data.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Ability to research, read and interpret drawings.
  • Ability to write with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable contractual performance work requirements.
  • Must have current state issued drivers license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret clearance.
  • NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work site.
