About The Position

The Integration Engineer is responsible for interfaces related to core BD products. Responsible for providing implementation and support of BD integration projects for pharmacy, materials management and related healthcare systems to BD customers. The Integration Engineer designs and validates scoped interfaces to meet project timelines and established revenue objectives. Requirements

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. This position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting.
  • Must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for and required by the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions.
  • Must maintain a current driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety requirements.
  • Minimum overnight travel required at times. Position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Knowledge of HIS systems and/or BD products as it pertains to hospital workflow.
  • Experience in healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications with knowledge of HL7 or EDI standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, SharePoint, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Suggested certifications include:HL7, MCSE.
  • HIPAA Interface Engine (ex. eGate, Cloverleaf, Mirth, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer meetings and conference calls to facilitate interface design, training, and validation while establishing rapport conducive to long-term business relationships.
  • Must effectively interact with diverse customer teams, gain consensus, and deliver concise communication.
  • Demonstrate understanding of BD products and their integration with hospital information systems, participate in product validation, and possess troubleshooting skills related to product integration and best practices.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multitask across projects.
  • Maintain accurate account documentation and backups, complete project documentation accurately, and monitor critical issues while providing timely updates.
  • Requires excellent organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Work effectively with diverse multi-functional teams focusing on small to medium healthcare organizations, consult Lead or Senior Integration Engineers when appropriate, and align with all BD policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in all training activities outlined in the established Integration Engineer Learning Path, work independently while meeting on-call duties as scheduled, and contribute to system validation and standardization efforts.
