Requirements

  • Experience in program management within the defense or communications industry
  • Proficiency in MS Project for schedule management
  • Strong skills in Excel for cost management and financial forecasting
  • Experience with risk management and change management processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams effectively
  • Technical acumen in communications or willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Land Mobile Radio systems
  • Familiarity with government contracting processes
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with local government customers
  • Laying out schedules and plans
  • Managing cross functions (systems engineering, factory technicians, financial analysis, etc.)
  • Overall ownership of the successful delivery of LMR systems to the customer within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Interpreting contracts and maintaining the scope baseline
  • Building and maintaining project schedules using MS Project
  • Forecasting spend and controlling costs with Excel spreadsheets and a program financial analyst
  • Identifying risks, determining financial exposure, and developing plans to mitigate risk using a risk register
  • Recognizing and documenting potential changes in a Change Log and driving profitable Change Orders
  • Maintaining excellent verbal and written communication with both customers and internal teams
  • Driving internal and external team meetings using an action/issue register to keep progress moving forward
  • Possessing prior communications background or the desire to learn about radio infrastructure and products.
