About The Position

The Inventory Lead guides team members to ensure daily operations are completed efficiently. This role involves training and monitoring staff to achieve performance goals, supporting supervisors with special projects, and providing coverage for both team members and supervisors as needed. The Inventory Lead also collaborates with multiple departments to maintain sufficient inventory and ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective Communication with subordinates and supervisors
  • High School/GED or 3-5 years’ experience in inventory control or warehouse operations or combination of both education and experience.
  • Forklift Certification or must be able to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assign, coordinate, and oversee daily work activities for Inventory Clerks.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all inventory and transaction records within JDE and SharePoint systems.
  • Provide operational support by assisting with inventory counts and front-counter coverage during staff absences.
  • Oversee inventory control, receiving, scheduling, clerical operations, safety compliance, quality assurance, and technology  utilization.
  • Identify and report damaged or discrepant materials to the appropriate personnel
  • Perform general labor tasks such as assembling maintenance kits, relocating mechanical components, and unloading deliveries.
  • Monitor and control the distribution of materials and parts to various departments
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers across departments to resolve sourcing and availability of materials.
  • Plan, delegate, and track project tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Train and coach Inventory Clerks on job functions and daily responsibilities.
  • Create and submit requisitions for repairs of motors and other equipment through maintenance or external vendors.
  • Review, verify, and edit accuracy of orders entered by team members.
  • Communicate daily operational updates and issues to supervisory staff.
  • Ensure departments are compliant with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and reconcile cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory variances.
  • Maintain compliance with chemical handling and material storage requirements.
  • Performs other assigned duties and/or projects to support business needs.
