About The Position

The Lead Polling Manager will be responsible for preparing and programming survey questionnaires, constructing samples, computing survey weights, digging into the results, and translating them for our clients and projects. This person will oversee other members of the polling team, helping to guide their work, and continuously find ways to develop and grow the team. The ideal candidate has a passion for collaborating in all aspects of polling to help our clients better understand their needs, utilizing data to help inform decisions and strategic plans, and working to mentor and develop others. The Lead Polling Manager will report to the Director of Polling and work closely with the Director to continuously refine the team’s polling processes to keep up with the latest innovations and challenges.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and 5+ years of experience working with survey data.
  • 2+ years experience managing others, with a proven track record of developing a growing team.
  • An understanding of how to distill requests for a lot of detail down to the most important points and find the most relevant information in a sea of facts.
  • Experience conducting data analysis on tight deadlines where the problem is unstructured, or guidance is open ended.
  • Expertise in programming languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python.
  • The ability to manipulate data and are comfortable working with spreadsheets.
  • Someone who is passionate about harnessing data-driven solutions to improve social outcomes.
  • Someone who is detail-oriented and proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with the BlueLabs project teams to design our polling solutions.
  • Manage other members of the polling team, reviewing their work, and providing regular and ongoing feedback, coaching, mentorship, and learning and development opportunities.
  • Oversee the polling process from end-to-end, including programming survey questionnaires, pulling samples, tracking and monitoring surveys while in the field, and weighting the results.
  • Help to prepare and deliver client deliverables such as toplines and crosstabs.
  • Determine final results in concert with the team and develop insights for clients in presentation materials.
  • Coordinate with team members on experiments, modeling, and other analytics surveys.
  • Collaborate with our Data Science team on polling methodology and to work on research questions to improve our operations and polling processes.
  • Work with the Director of Polling to suggest and implement polling process improvements and keep a pulse on new innovations in the industry.
  • Help oversee relevant vendor relationships; regularly interacting with and evaluating our vendors.
