About The Position

As a Lead Plant Operator, your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of Operators during a shift with the goal of treating wastewater, determining water quality, and release treated water to city publicly owned treatment works. The Lead Plant Operator plays a significant role in maintaining the safety and health of the work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience as a Plant Operator with the maintenance of water pumps and plant machinery (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production activity to ensure that team and equipment are performing at an optimal level.
  • Follow PPE policies and ensure that all employees are consistently following.
  • Monitor teams attendance and notify Day Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager of any attendance issues.
  • Perform light troubleshooting and make repairs as possible. If unable to repair, call maintenance or Plant Manager.
  • Monitor offloading area to ensure that dwell time is kept to a minimum.
  • Monitor plant and ensure that daily housekeeping is being completed.
  • Ensure that team follows What’sApp processes and that hourly milestones are posted.
  • Lead by example.
  • Work with team as needed including operating equipment and cleaning tank farms.
  • Responsible for mixing the wastewater chemicals and adding to them as needed.
  • Manages the space for incoming wastewater and treatment of the material.
  • Performs cleanup of the area as required.
  • Checks tank levels for necessary space for material processing.
  • Follows all safety and compliance rules and regulations.
  • Wears and properly uses safety equipment at all times.
  • Always works in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Operates and maintains shop equipment.
  • May perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Operates heavy equipment, including forklift truck and skid steer.
  • May perform minor electrical maintenance functions.
  • Cleans and maintains process equipment.
