About The Position

You will be responsible for delivering quality care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team of Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs) in a virtual environment. You will also oversee a team of APPs (NPs and PAs) delivering care to their patients and supporting them in Oscar strategic initiatives. You will report into the Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care. Work Location: This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, or Washington D.C.. Requirements

  • MD or DO from an ACGME accredited medical school
  • Active Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
  • 5+ years of outpatient urgent care or emergency medicine experience
  • 1+ year of experience leading a team of clinicians
  • 1+ year of experience in telehealth
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least 3 out of 6 of these states: TX, TN, FL, GA, OH, NJ
  • Active IMLCC or eligible to apply
  • Experience supervising APPs according to state regulatory requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language fluency
  • Experience being metric driven in a practice setting as it relates to population health management, quality benchmarks, cost of care, and productivity
  • Six sigma or programmatic management experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct high quality, safe patient care via telemedicine (video, phone, messaging) while working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide supervision to a group of APPs (NPs and PAs) who are delivering care in a virtual environment and provide professional & clinical growth.
  • Be a clinical escalation point for the care delivery team as needed (APPs, RNs, MAs).
  • Support development of clinical guidelines, continuous improvement of care model, and participate in collaborative projects with Operations and Product team members as a clinical leader.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits in addition to required state supervisory audit requirements.
  • Ensure a culture of patient safety
  • Be accountable for the quality of care of your patients and ensure superior member experience.
  • Conduct service recovery needs for Oscar patients.
  • Provide growth and development of your team including management of poor performance.
