About The Position

As the Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will provide advanced technical support in the preparation, distribution, and inventory control of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position serves as a working lead - coordinating the daily activities of the pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining quality control standards, and supporting efficient pharmacy operations across all service areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a pharmacy technician, with at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
Current Georgia Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program preferred.
Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health pharmacy environment strongly desired.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary resource and technical lead for the pharmacy technician team.
Oversee daily workflow, task assignments, and scheduling to ensure optimal staffing and timely service delivery.
Prepare and package medications, compound non-sterile preparations, and label prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate medication inventory and perform routine audits to ensure proper storage, handling, and accountability.
Monitor expiration dates and assist in the removal or return of outdated medications.
Support ordering, receiving, and restocking of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
Provide training, mentorship, and competency checks for new and existing pharmacy staff.
