About The Position

The Lead Pega Architect is instrumental in shaping the bank’s Pega platform strategy and ensuring delivery of resilient, compliant, and scalable BPM solutions that support mission-critical retail banking operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of enterprise application development experience, with significant hands-on expertise in the Pega Platform.
  • Pega Senior System Architect (SSA) certification required; Lead System Architect (LSA) certification strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in: ○ Case management architecture and advanced workflow design ○ Data modeling and rule resolution mechanics ○ Ruleset governance and versioning strategy ○ Pega UI frameworks (Cosmos and UI Kit) ○ Reporting, decisioning, and declarative processing
  • Demonstrated experience architecting complex, multi-team Pega programs in enterprise environments.
  • Strong proficiency in performance tuning, debugging tools, clipboard analysis, and guardrail management.
  • Experience operating within regulated, large-scale, mission-critical banking or financial systems.
  • Enterprise architectural thinking with a long-term platform strategy mindset.
  • Strong stakeholder communication across technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to balance delivery velocity with architectural rigor.
  • Proven leadership in driving standards, mentoring teams, and influencing cross-functional partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within retail banking or broader financial services domains.
  • Exposure to high-volume, transaction-oriented workflows and customer-facing platforms.
  • Experience with Pega Customer Service framework.
  • Experience leading Pega platform upgrades and cloud-based deployments (e.g., AWS-hosted environments).
  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own solution architecture across case design, data models, integrations, UI strategy, and rule organization.
  • Architect scalable Pega applications leveraging guardrails, low-code principles, and reuse-first design approaches.
  • Establish standards for ruleset design, branching strategy, and application layering.
  • Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise integration, security, and data governance standards.
  • Lead design reviews and enforce guardrail compliance and performance best practices.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance for complex rule design, decisioning frameworks, and advanced case management patterns.
  • Oversee integration architecture including REST, SOAP, messaging, and file-based interfaces.
  • Drive non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Partner with business, product, and domain stakeholders to translate requirements into well-architected Pega solutions.
  • Mentor senior and junior developers, fostering architectural discipline and technical excellence.
  • Support complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis for high-impact defects.
  • Contribute to platform roadmap planning, upgrade strategy, and reusable asset development.
