About The Position

This position will assist in enrolling qualified patients in various health programs, including Medi-Cal, HMOs, Medi-Medi, My Health LA (MHLA), Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP), Primary Care Physician (PCP), Covered CA, and Cal Kids. This position will also supervise Patient Service Representatives and Community Health Worker Academy Interns.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of customer service best practices.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of staffing support.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to work in culturally and racially diverse populations and in lower socio-economic conditions.
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization.
  • High school diploma or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of related experience.
  • Certified Application Assistant (CAA).
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.
  • El Proyecto will reimburse employees for their mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • To receive mileage reimbursement, the employee must log their mileage and submit the mileage expense report to their Appropriate Administrator.
  • Walking, talking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds; hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential membership services to enrolled patients.
  • Recruit new patients, completing necessary paperwork for enrollments.
  • Support ongoing patient communications and follow-up.
  • Support ongoing outreach efforts and maintain outreach calendars and documentation.
  • Support the healthcare team to enhance customer service.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on difficult issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Perform supervisor-level responsibilities, which may include but are not limited to overseeing daily operations, managing and training, providing guidance and support, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
