The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Grade: Professional 310 Pay Range: $88,300.00 - $132,400.00 Job Description Work Location This is a full-time, remote role based in the United States. Candidates located in the Eastern U.S. are strongly preferred . Some travel will be required. This role focuses on strategic business development, executive engagement, and national market growth while shaping how organizations invest in talent development.

Requirements

  • Expert-level consultative sales and partnership acquisition skills
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders
  • Deep understanding of workforce development, higher education, and talent ecosystems
  • Proven ability to craft tailored value propositions that deliver measurable ROI
  • Strong commitment to student-centered outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of related experience, or 7 years of related experience with a Master’s degree

  • Prior experience in the higher education sector
  • Extensive background in acquisition-focused roles
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships with large organizations (1,000+ employees)
  • Proven track record in enterprise sales or strategic partnerships across industries

Responsibilities

  • Drive new enterprise partnerships aligned to WGU’s mission and strategic priorities
  • Lead consultative business development with C-suite leaders and national decision-makers
  • Design innovative proposals, campaigns, and workforce solutions that address large-scale talent needs
  • Represent WGU at major industry events, conferences, and partner councils
  • Coach and guide Account Executives and Senior Account Executives on enterprise sales best practices
  • Partner closely with Partner Success teams to ensure smooth handoffs and long-term partner outcomes
  • Contribute to national pipeline strategy, market expansion, and development of new verticals
