For over the past 10+ years, John Grace Restoration and Construction has been West Michigan’s choice for emergency services and restoration repairs following property damage. We are here to help homeowners recover from storm, mold, fire/smoke, water, and flooding damage. Our staff are experts in the insurance claim process. We work in the customers best interest and guide them through the claim process. John Grace staff are highly trained in mitigating loss, scoping/estimating repairs, and ensuring timely and high-quality repair work. Purpose of the Lead Painter Role As a Lead Painter you are taking ownership of helping to restore homes for the communities of people we serve. You must provide excellent craftsmanship, leadership, and outstanding communication to help us achieve our purpose of restoring lives. We are looking for someone who Has 3-5 years of on-job experience in a verifiable paint role. Has 2-3 years of team leadership in a construction environment. Can function in a high stress environment that can change daily. Has excellent time management, delegation, and multi-tasking skills. Is self-motivated and can work independently and as a team. Can provide constructive feedback to team members and is open to receiving feedback to help them grow and learn.

Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is a very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
Candidate for employment must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
Candidate must pass a criminal background check to perform work on insurance related claims.
Basic knowledge of smartphone/email technology.
Has 3-5 years of on-job experience in a verifiable paint role.
Has 2-3 years of team leadership in a construction environment.
Can function in a high stress environment that can change daily.
Has excellent time management, delegation, and multi-tasking skills.
Is self-motivated and can work independently and as a team.
Can provide constructive feedback to team members and is open to receiving feedback to help them grow and learn.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of paint and job site safety.
Skilled in all aspects of site prep, painting, spraying finishes and touchup work.
Work on jobsites daily and always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Drive company vehicle to jobsites- follow all traffic laws.
Communicate technical knowledge and expectations in a professional/effective manner to homeowners who may be unfamiliar with painter terminology and process.
Oversee 1-2 staff – ensure high quality of work and set clear expectations.
Work to develop painters and other team members.
Work week is typically 40-45 hours a week, not expected to exceed 50 hours during busy times.
