The Lead NPD Electrical Test Engineer supports the Regulator Business Unit by contributing to new product development and resiliency initiatives. This role develops, implements, and maintains manufacturing automation test systems and supports production line activities at contract manufacturers. The position applies engineering expertise to solve complex product and manufacturing challenges and supports Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives through robust, advanced manufacturing test processes. In this role you will: Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, and Manufacturing teams to define Design for Test (DFT) and automated test strategies Design, develop, and sustain automated production test systems to improve throughput and reduce operator error Lead specification, vendor selection, procurement, and deployment of advanced automated test systems for PCBA and final assembly Develop and maintain TestStand and LabVIEW software using structured, reusable, and well‑documented code Validate new control features for functionality, integration, and alignment with customer requirements Apply statistical methods (CpK, PpK, GR&R) for test system validation, release, and continuous improvement Provide sustaining engineering support for contract manufacturer test systems, including mentoring and on‑site support (up to 10% travel) Participate in cross‑functional root cause and failure analysis to improve yield, cycle time, and capacity Ensure manufacturability through error-proofing, design reviews, and corrective action implementation Lead PCBA BOM health management, including component obsolescence and alternate part analysis Support Manufacturing and Quality teams in resolving supplier, production, and test issues
