Job Title: Senior New Product Development Engineer Location: Richmond, VA What we are looking for: We are looking for a Senior engineer to be responsible for New Product Development (NPD) of refrigerated merchandisers on the existing product lines.

Requirements

B.S. in Engineering
5+ years of experience in design of industrial products or 3 years of experience with master’s degree; or a PhD without experience

Strong track record of NPD accomplishments
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a high degree of product and process complexity
Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a matrixed, functional organization with the ability to influence stakeholders in various functional groups
Innovative mind with ability to generate solutions to customer needs
Organized with strong project management skills; resource planning, scheduling, and reporting of status
Proficient at MCAD modeling of proposed solutions
Experience in HVAC System design and implementation a plus
Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus

Responsibilities

Manage the NPD project from concept to completion, including scheduling, deliverables, and delegation of tasks.
Collaborate with Product Management to define the product market specification for new refrigerators.
Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve the product market specification.
Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulation of proposed concepts.
Collaborate with Product Management to validate the solution with the customer.
Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution.
Conduct field tests to validate the solution.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on the fabrication plan for new products.
Apply value engineering methodologies to optimize cost position on existing products.
Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering to implement cost efficient solutions in place.
