Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TGS Talent Acquisition Team requires: Position Summary The Technical Trainer I is responsible for providing quality instruction to a wide population of key customer’s employee base according to course objectives and syllabi. The technical trainer should be highly knowledgeable about the Data Center functions and capabilities and maintain expertise in the subject area. The technical trainer is tasked with amending and revising instructional materials for instructor-led, virtual (as applicable) and one-on-one desk side training, to adapt to the client’s needs and objectives. The trainer must be highly organized, detail-oriented and meet aggressive deadlines. The Technical Trainer must be able to pass a security clearance background and drug screening before delivering training to client site. Duties and Responsibilities • Deliver walk-around, classroom, one-on-one and follow up training to client’s employee base according to training material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned course schedule. • Conduct training delivery to client training standards, policy and methodology. • Motivate students/team to actively participate in all aspects of the course, including but not limited to discussions, hands-on activities, and assessments. • Start every training session promptly and ready for that session’s instruction. • Coordinate and implement instruction material in an orderly and professional manner. • Communicate any concerns regarding the program or client to the project manager. • Evaluate current training materials and suggest updates to improve user comprehension. • Deliver and gather course evaluation surveys to each training session and submit to project manager. • Assist onsite deployments and troubleshooting network security, Layer 2 & Layer 3 hardware and software related issues.• • Extensive troubleshooting of network outages, network performance issues, configuration issues, security issues and high CPU utilization • Perform security risk assessments for clients and provide the findings and recommendations • Analyze, configure, and troubleshoot complex networks. • Support Core, distribution, and access layers switches. • Work with business unit escalation teams, tools teams and training groups. • Configure, analyze, and troubleshoot highly complex networks. • Use Cisco’s Routing and Switching platform knowledge (e.g. system architecture, switching, routing, and forwarding issues) and other Cisco devices to work with customers and business partners.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, human behavior and performance, motivation, reinforcement, evaluation and feedback techniques and the measurement of training effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of Data Center operations and functions.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills and be able to effectively communicate in the English language.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Highly effective time and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong project management, collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate and implement multiple projects.
  • Successful candidates are motivated self-starters, comfortable working in a high-paced, and schedule driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Instructional Design, Education, Training or relevant field required.
  • 1-3 years practical experience with subject matter
  • Requires 1-2 years of training experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality instructional materials in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to travel; 50%.

  • Experience delivering training to Employees with Disabilities (EWD)
  • Experience delivering training with government agencies, preferred.
