Peraton is seeking a self-driven and resourceful Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team of network and UC engineers in Arlington, VA. Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will bring your years of experience and expertise to propel the team to success and will be a pivotal member of a team that drives work forward within the program. The work is hands-on and requires engineers that can work with limited guidance; that said, the Senior NE will provide technical guidance to junior engineers. You will support the creation and review of network designs, conduct hardware evaluations in a lab and with vendors. We are seeking a proactive candidate who will not shy away from writing a test plan or reading through vendor’s technical documents to solve a problem and write a resolution report. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for but not limited to: Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans. Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews. Support the network operations of the Production system. Provide the team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments. Develop, implement, and manage network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability. Perform capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability. Proactively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership.
