About The Position

This position requires strong independent problem-solving skills, technical writing, and communication skills in support of an array of existing and future work for US Military and foreign defense customers. The candidate must have experience in the design, architecture, installation, configuration, test, documentation, maintenance, and administration of computer networks and related computing environments including computer and network hardware, systems software, routers, network switches, and applications software. The candidate will define the network system architecture, develop systems requirements, integrate sensors (EO/IR, Radar, LMR, MANET radio’s, LTE, Satcom, backhaul communication systems, Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), etc.), integrate Command and Control software, define products with control systems, and work Bid and Proposals.  This position also requires significant expertise in networking hardware with a strong focus on Cybersecurity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience leading and defining Systems Level Architectures
  • Develop, review, and implement network architecture and detailed schematics for complex C5ISR systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi) in secure environments.
  • Integrate C5ISR systems with other subsystems (e.g., navigation) and perform advanced troubleshooting in lab and field environments.
  • Proficiency with TCP/IP, VoIP, VPNs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
  • Experience in IT networks, routers, network switches, and servers
  • Experience with networking RF systems (Land Mobile Radios, MANET radio’s, Backhaul Point to Point, Satcom, LTE, Encryptions, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements, including Technical Information Documents (STIGs), patching, and Authorization & Accreditation (C&A).
  • Experience managing suppliers and writing Statement of Work (SOWs)
  • Write/lead trade studies, use cases, white papers, etc.
  • Experience with Pursuits, Bids, Proposals, etc.
  • Experience with System Level Test and Troubleshooting (In-house and in Field)
  • Liaison with partners and subcontractors to verify specifications and interface requirements and to produce ICDs between multiple sub-systems.
  • 10+ years as a Systems Engineer working systems level design and defining architectures
  • Experience in Cybersecurity frameworks and controls (CIS Controls, least privilege and secure configuration bases)
  • Proficiency with CLI-based configuration
  • 5+ years working as a subject Matter Expert (SME) in IT networks
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with or with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 10-15+ years of experience in network engineering, with significant experience in C5ISR, C4ISR, or military network systems.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Java, etc
  • Competent with large-scale, distributed, federated system architectures, database technologies, virtualization methodologies, wired/wireless data communications, fiber optics, network and cyber security.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office based tools to include Visio.
  • Knowledge of cyber security desired.
  • Ability to write and deploy system processes
  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent DoD IAT Level 2/3) certification is usually required. Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCDP) are highly desirable.
