About The Position

Are you passionate about designing and delivering cutting-edge network solutions on a global scale? In your role as Lead Network Engineer, you’ll serve as a key technical leader, driving innovation and operational excellence across Shure’s LAN, WLAN, WAN, cloud, and voice environments. Leveraging advanced platforms like Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Meraki, SD-WAN, and CUCM, you’ll architect and implement secure, scalable, and high-performing network infrastructure that empowers our business worldwide. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and following ITIL and ITSM best practices, you’ll ensure our network remains robust, reliable, and ready for the future. This role is hybrid and based in our Niles, IL location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications highly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering, including architecture, design, and operations.
  • Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or similar) and hybrid environments.
  • Experience collaborating with IT Security teams and implementing compliance-driven designs.
  • Deep expertise in Cisco networking (routers, switches, firewalls), including Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Meraki, and SD-WAN.
  • Proven experience with unified communications platforms (CUCM, VoIP, SIP).
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, secure architecture, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and zero-trust frameworks.
  • Proficient in ITIL and ITSM frameworks for operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux server administration, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise management systems (ERP/SAP preferred).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of cloud security and integration with SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Deploy and manage Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, and Meraki technologies for secure and cloud-managed networking.
  • Oversee multiple network initiatives as a project manager, coordinating teams and ensuring effective delivery throughout all project phases.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance and security across global environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and maintain documentation of network architecture and procedures.
  • Follow ITIL and ITSM best practices for service delivery, incident management, and change control.
