About The Position

Provide solutions to complex business and technical problems and issues of complex scope using advanced engineering and technical principles. Develop, test, and certify layer 2, 3, and 4 technologies on multiple vendor hardware and software platforms based on customized or generic design. Analyze requirements, develop network designs, and implement solutions to meet requirements. Apply engineering principles and practice in broad areas of complex technical project work that requires in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise. Develop networking designs to support initiatives. Provide functional and technical leadership to submit vendor feature requests. Route devices configured as PE’s and RR’s. Apply advanced knowledge of Juniper MX 960, Juniper 640’s, Juniper M320, Juniper VMx, Cisco ASR9k’s, Cisco CRS’s, and Cisco IOS-XR – WB platforms. Utilize ARBOR, Radware, Palo Alto, and Surricata for intrusion detection and as intrusion protection systems. Implement TCP protocols including ieBGP, iBGP -LU, OSPF, and LDP to address families including v4/v6 Unicast and Flowspec. Work with DDoS Next Generation Control plane devices including AM (Application Manager), SSC (Security Service Controller), RID (Route Injection Device), RLD (Route listener Device), and FCvRR (Flow Control Route Reflector). Utilize JSON as a data framework. Script using RabbitMQ, Unix OS, and Python. Use Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) technologies including KVM and VMware. Troubleshoot using Wireshark and test tools including JDSU, Spirent, and IXIA. Work with routing and switched devices configured as PE’s and NTE’s. Apply advanced knowledge of Ciena and RAD Element management systems. Utilize XML, Netconf, and YANG platforms. Complete QOS implementation and enhance ACL security features including Ethernet OAM and TWAMP. Use standards protocols to support platform debug and service validation including TCP/IP, VLANs, HSRP, OSPF, BGP, BFD, L2 VPN over MPLS, IPv4, and IPv6 addressing. Apply advanced knowledge of web application servers including WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, and IIS. Utilize Oracle, MS SQL, and DB2 databases.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation developing networking designs to support initiatives; developing networking designs to support initiatives; utilizing JSON as a data framework; scripting using RabbitMQ, Unix OS, and Python; using Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) technologies including KVM and VMware; troubleshooting using Wireshark and test tools including JDSU, Spirent, and IXIA; utilizing XML, Netconf, and YANG platforms; using standards protocols to support platform debug and service validation including TCP/IP, VLANs, HSRP, OSPF, BGP, BFD, L2 VPN over MPLS, IPv4, and IPv6 addressing; and applying advanced knowledge of web application servers including WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, and IIS.
