About The Position

The incumbent serves as a Lead Medical Support Assistant in the Care in the Community Section (CITC), Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. The Lead MSAs provide vital coverage to various wards throughout TVHS in the event of calls out and short staffing. The Lead MSA acts as a point person for training, questions, service level advocacy and much more all while assisting the chief of ward administration. The Lead MSA is responsible for the coordination of Advanced MSA assignments and workflow found in an interdisciplinary unit. The Lead MSA is responsible for daily workload assessments, assigning work, and assuring proper staffing coverage; evaluating training records; and determining training needs of MSAs to provide support across interdisciplinary settings. Major duties include, but are not limited to: The Lead MSA is responsible for the coordination of Advanced MSA assignments and workflow found in an interdisciplinary unit.
