About The Position

Lead Material Handler What Material Handling contributes to Cardinal Health Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within a plant, office or warehouse. May maintain records. Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:00am (overtime per business needs, weekends) Responsibilities Picking, packing, inbound function, wrapping pallets, SPA proficient user, perform warehouse duties as needed Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach truck, swing reach truck, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks Using an RF scanner Support the supervisor in leading the team’s efforts in adhering to all government (OSHA, DEA, SBOP, FDA) regulations as well as safety, security and cleanliness of the warehouse Ensures that Cardinal Health’s principles, policies and procedures are consistently practiced Handles general employee inquiries and solves problems Maintains positive employee relations; promotes team environment and facilitates process improvement Work closely with other leads and supervisors within the facility to promote teamwork Plan daily workload and assignments Lead safety and quality discussions while maintaining productivity Ability to work at other CAH buildings as needed Qualifications Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills required 4+ years experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft office Strong written communication skills and attention to detail Strong leadership skills are essential What is expected of you and others at this level Applies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignments Demonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has thorough knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignments May provide technical guidance and training to others Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications Works on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issue Makes recommendation for new or revised processes and has a role on the implementation Adheres to all quality guidelines Works with minimal degree of supervision. Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills required
  • 4+ years experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills are essential
