Lead Material Handler 1st shift The Lead Material Handler will safely and accurately receive, transport, and ship materials and finished goods. This role requires performing all tasks in compliance with safety guidelines and procedural SOPs. It is the responsibility of the Material Handler to carry out these processes accurately, efficiently, and on time to support the Production team.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Reach Truck forklift experience in a manufacturing environment; forklift training completed.
  • High school diploma / GED
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs multiple times daily, standing for up to 4 hours continuously, and performing repetitive bending/stretching; adherence to PPE policies required (contact lenses prohibited).
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written English), problem-solving, and strong mathematical skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, honest, able to work independently, and acts with integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborative, action-oriented, energetic, and willing to address and resolve conflicts constructively.

Responsibilities

  • Operate warehouse equipment and inventory devices safely and efficiently, following all Standard Operating Procedures and company policies.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for material handling questions across all departments—must be approachable and comfortable with employees regularly seeking guidance on procedures, and problem-solving.
  • Load, unload, and move raw materials, finished goods, and packaging components promptly to support uninterrupted production and timely shipments.
  • Inspect products for quality and accuracy during receiving, scanning, loading, and returns processing, ensuring compliance with verification and disposition procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation including Bills of Lading, freight bills, packing lists, and purchase orders; assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working condition by reporting defects immediately and performing routine cleaning of equipment and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Monitor safe unloading of bulk loads and proper storage of materials, optimizing space utilization as directed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and report any unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors promptly.
  • Support warehouse and production operations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork under supervisor guidance.
