About The Position

As the Well Spa Lead Massage Therapist at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for delivering professional massage services, supervising massage therapist operations, and assisting Spa Management to ensure that all guest experiences are distinctively superior. Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. Requirements

  • Current state license or certification as a Massage Therapist required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of professional massage therapy experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or training role preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of various massage modalities and their therapeutic benefits.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor staff to achieve performance goals.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with spa departments and hotel leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily massage therapist operations including schedules, staffing adjustments, and service rotation.
  • Perform professional massage services including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and other modalities according to spa protocol.
  • Perform Manager-on-Duty (MOD) shifts, supporting spa front desk and operational processes.
  • Maintain a minimum retail sales benchmark to support spa revenue goals.
  • Assist with product inventory, requisitions, and ordering for massage therapy services.
  • Monitor cleanliness and maintenance standards within massage treatment rooms and equipment.
  • Research, recommend, and assist with the development of new services and products.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving guest issues with professionalism and care.
  • Lead training and mentoring sessions for new hires and existing massage therapists; provide monthly training schedule to Spa Director.
  • Support Spa Management by maintaining employee records, attendance, and commendations.
  • Assist with staff meetings, development sessions, and interdepartmental communication.
  • Act as a liaison between massage staff and Spa Management, reporting issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate with other departments to coordinate spa operations, guest experiences, and interdepartmental relations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Spa Director and Spa Manager.
