About The Position

Unison, a GE Aerospace company, is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. The Lead Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of production processes and products. This is a customer-facing role with ownership of quality assurance of products, services, and manufacturing processes, including conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, customer audits, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using quality inspection equipment and software
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage quality assurance activities within the production environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and products.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Train and mentor production staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Analyze quality data and generate reports to track performance and identify trends.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Support new product development and introduction by providing quality input and oversight.
