About The Position

The Lead Production Quality Specialist reports to the GE Lafayette Plant Leader and works in a self-directed teaming structure. This role is responsible for quality assurance and quality control in the LEAP Assembly operation at Lafayette.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in quality + 3 years of manufacturing experience
• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

• Utilize FLIGHT DECK tools to drive quality improvements
• Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
• Advocate for and lead proactive quality improvement projects (focused on predictive quality)
• Responsible for interfacing with customers
• Drive and support successful internal and external audits
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
• Support and coach self-directed teams to achieve program/business objectives
• Serve as subject matter expert for site wide decision making process in councils
• Ensure operational alignment with site quality KPIs
