Lead Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift Weekday - Palmdale, CA RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: o Work SAFELY by following policies and procedures in an industrial/manufacturing environment. o Basic troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting. o Perform preventative and corrective inspections. o Maintenance in a team atmosphere. o Maintain an inspection and servicing schedule of all tools within the facilities. o Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams. o Inspecting, troubleshooting, and/or replacing mechanical components. o Inspecting, troubleshooting, and/or replacing parts. o Lead a crew of maintenance technicians and electricians. o Create tie-in communication with next shift for ongoing work orders. DUTIES: o Provide status of work progress to the supervisor, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems. o Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variation with supervisor or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine. o Dismantle defective machine or equipment and install new or repaired parts. o Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. o Understand production processes and operation of machinery for troubleshooting purposes. o Completes CMMS entries for work orders. o Lead a crew of maintenance technicians and electricians. o Attend to diverse work assignments each day. o Perform planned and unplanned maintenance work. o Perform all work in a safe and timely period. o Lead preventive and predictive maintenance as directed by supervision. o Lead all adjustment of equipment systems with view toward conserving energy. o Skilled in the use of common hand tools and a variety of power tools and precision measuring devices. o Clean and prepare equipment and areas for inspections. o Maintain cleaning and service logs on all equipment; record, correct, and report all deficiencies and other unusual occurrences. o Read blueprints and diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications on use of equipment and materials. o Perform all duties in a safe manner following all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. o Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards. o Must be a team player committed to work in a quality environment. o Willingly perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as requested, including all general building maintenance activities. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED, two (2) years or equivalent work experience minimum. 2-4 years of experience in machinery maintenance. Vocational school, Associate’s degree, or technical degree preferred. Experience with a wide variety of hand and power tools. Prior certification with forklift and boom lifts. Requires working in confining spaces, on a ladder, lifting equipment over six (6) feet above ground, and physical exertion. Must be able to work as needed, including various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Valid Driver’s License. Disclaimer: the duties and responsibilities of position may change as need arises.
