About The Position

The Lead Engineers responsibility is to participate in the daily Engineering responsibilities and to assist the Engineering Managers with the day-to-day activities of the Department. Qualifications Aid the Engineering Managers in the scheduling of preventive maintenance, weekend work, vacations, days worked by Engineers. Assist in the development and implementation of Engineering Training Programs. Provide leadership when the Engineering Managers are absent. Continue Engineer’s duties on an as needed basis. Maintain a high level of urgency in responding to all trouble calls. Insure that all repairs and projects are completed through the documentation of work orders and communicate all vital information to Production Associates, Production Managers, Engineering Managers, and Engineers. Insure that all startup and shutdown procedures are completed in a proper and timely manner. Communicate with Engineering Managers, Production Managers, Production Associates, and fellow Engineers when performing travel paths. Communicate with the Engineering Parts Coordinator to insure that an adequate inventory of parts is available. Provide descriptions, part numbers, quantities and dates when needed. Promote a safe and clean working environment by following clean as you go procedures. Attend and participate in meetings pertaining to department goals, safety, staff, and scheduling meetings and activities. Ensure that all safety procedures and guidelines are properly adhered to include daily overhead walk through inspections and high pressure cylinder storage area inspections. Assist Engineering Managers in assuring that all 7I procedures are followed and completed in a timely manner. Must poses the basic mechanical and electrical skills to assist or perform preventative, corrective tasks on process and facility equipment, and must be knowledgeable with the proper use of hand and power tools as well as all special equipment tools. Must maintain a high standard of personal integrity and conduct that reflects open, honest communication and respect for others. Must poses the ability to complete daily computer tasks required to keep PM and work orders up to date, individuals will be held accountable for accuracy and clarity of work completed documentation, parts, causes, comments, etc. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical control systems, conveyor systems, and production machines. Posses the ability to follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshooting malfunctions. Be punctual and adhere to all safety policies, general manufacturing policies, and food safety guidelines. As required, requisition repair parts for equipment and facility. Must be able to complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely fashion, must be motivated to increase knowledge and to gain experience in all aspects of the Maintenance field. Team member will also perform such other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as stated above.
  • Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform physical work in all conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.
  • Must be able to stand or be on his/her feet for long periods of time on hard surfaces.
  • Will be required to perform continuous and repetitive motion, including: lifting, pushing and pulling product and/or objects, as well as bending, twisting and reaching with the torso.
  • The product or objects may weigh in excess of sixty pounds.
  • May work in either hot areas or refrigerated areas for long periods of time.
