About The Position

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Marquee Club Lead Line Cook. The Lead Line Cook will assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with the culinary operation of the Marquee Club, specialty Concession offerings, and in-house events and meetings. The Lead Line Cook will act as lead supervisor, in the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, overseeing the work of the culinary staff. A successful candidate will have an innate desire to strive for excellence. It is imperative that you consistently serve as a role model for external and internal service-focused behaviors according to The Fox Theatre's mission, vision, and guest experience culture. The ability to follow production schedules, with a focus on delivering quality product in a timely manner, is required. A strong work ethic and professional integrity are essential. Experience in prepping, finishing, and serving hot foods, cold foods, and pastries is preferred. Experience in high-volume catering is a plus. A working knowledge of kitchen safety, kitchen sanitation, and basic math skills is necessary. Speed and accuracy, in combination, are highly desired characteristics. The Lead Line Cook will attend departmental meetings, as directed. Other duties, as necessary, will be required to uphold the standards of the department and the organization.

Requirements

  • A Culinary Degree is preferred.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desired.
  • 2 years of experience as a lead cook for high-volume catering is highly desired.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge in: Catering production and service;
  • Supervising kitchen production.
  • Must have demonstrated general knowledge in: Buffet setups and executing attended stations;
  • Preparing diverse and ever-changing menu items.
  • Must have high competency in maintaining kitchen safety and sanitation;
  • Must have intermediate knife and culinary skills.
  • Must consistently demonstrate the ability to work respectfully and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced, and quality-driven environment
  • Must be knowledgeable about and adhere to all Fox Theatre, local and state safety and sanitation policies, and procedures for culinary operation.
  • Must assist in maintaining all kitchen equipment and daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Must work carving stations, action stations, and attended stations in a professional manner.
  • Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene at all times.
  • Must be able to traverse multiple areas of the building, including frequently moving between floors.
  • Continuously reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, stooping, and wiping.
  • Remaining stationary for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing all culinary requirements for the Marquee Club, specialty Concession offerings, and in-house events and meetings.
  • Follow the production schedule and supervise kitchen production in the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
  • Assist in the completion of the regular inventory of products.
  • Assist in the completion of daily production updates.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols when handling, storing, prepping, cooking, and serving all food items.
  • Other duties as directed.
