About The Position

Lead Lift Operator will be assigned one or more lifts where they will be given the responsibility of direct oversight of the Lift Operators working at that lift. The lead will perform all duties of a Lift Operator and will also be responsible for breaking and training junior staff, as well as taking ownership of daily set up and appearance of the lift station and staff according to company and ANSI standards. You will mentor your teammates and help promote a caring safety culture. This role is designed for emerging leaders at Vail Resorts. You will have opportunities to sharpen your leadership skills with Talent Development courses.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year prior Lift Operations expereince
  • Leading a team in some form of work or project
  • Must be albe to fluently read, write, and understand English
  • Must be able to adhear to early morning start times or late nights, depending on shift.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a high work ethic or stong moral ethics

Responsibilities

  • Setting up one or more lifts every day, and must quickly develop a working knowledge of those lifts and work area.
  • Training new e mployees in Daily Operating procedures.
  • Leading the Lift Operators in assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ensure lift logs are complete and accurate on a daily basis.
  • Coach and develop the performance of assigned Lift Operators, and assist in the development of employee reviews.
  • Responsible for the overall appearance of assigned lift stations and staff, as well as auditing station supplies and lift logs throughout the day.
  • Ensure that all breaks are completed in accordance with Department Labor policies.
  • Conducts and provides valuable input during morning/evening shift meetings.
  • Must be able to adhere to all company and department policies and procedures and set an example for others to follow.
  • Must be completely reliable and punctual for all assigned shifts, and be able to work unsupervised and delegate duties when needed.
  • Participate in classroom and on the job training for lift operators and ensure training documents are kept current.
  • Other duties as assigned by department leadership.
