The Role The Lead IT Systems Engineer is critical member of our team; you will work with other teammates to solve critical issues, engineer architectural and service level requirements, and improve customer experience. This position requires working with cross-functional teams and experience in cloud service providers, trouble ticketing, engineering support, and vendor product coordination. You will play a central role in testing, configuration, cybersecurity, mobility, and network services in support of a government agency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering or related) at an accredited university, highly regarded
  • Eight (5) years' experience delivering IT projects to a large enterprise
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with Cloud infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge in Menlo Security – Secure Enterprise Browser
  • Strong knowledge in containers (Docker/LXC)
  • Strong knowledge of networking
  • Excellent monitoring and alerting experience, familiarity with Service Now preferred
  • Solid understanding of technology fundamentals enabling cloud – compute, storage, networking, and security
  • Knowledge of current cloud architecture, best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends and processes
  • Ability to communicate about technology to a broad range of audiences, including customers, internal and external stakeholders across a full range of technical and non-technical backgrounds Desirable
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen with an active Department of Defense SECRET clearance
  • Must be DoD 8570 Level II Compliant (Security+).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Google Cloud

Responsibilities

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to interact with various levels of senior management, as necessary
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems effectively, seek out information to evaluate, prioritize, and formulate best solution or practice
  • Must be able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, share workloads, and deal with sudden shifts in project priorities
  • You are self-driven. You find problems and enroll others to solve them with you.
  • You are extensive experience in cloud infrastructure
  • Provide technical support to the team through the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems across multiple technical disciplines
  • Support and implement all customer migration and on-boarding projects
  • Assist with estimating work efforts required for each phase of a project
  • Work with teams across the organization to troubleshoot cloud-related issues
  • Periodically work at customer site, attend meetings, provide deliverables, and support customer engineering requirements
