How You’ll Contribute: The Lead ESS Installation Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients, as well as leading and overseeing the work of other installation technicians at the work site. This role requires coordination with project management, field superintendents, and others to understand project roles, interpret drawing packages, and execute system installation including rack buildouts, panel terminations, device IP configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. What You’ll Do: Lead and oversee ESS Installation Technicians while performing installation duties. Know and understand the BOM and material requirements for each job. Maintain the project timeline for device installation and head-end work. Communicate timeline risks to the Site Supervisor promptly. Take ownership of job schedules and assigned workload. Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities. Maintain daily communication with the Site Supervisor. Identify drawing or matrix issues and escalate quickly. Report missing or defective equipment immediately. Assist with inventory maintenance (including OneNote tracking). Maintain OneNote records including: work accomplished with technicians/trades, project issues, site readiness, inventory updates, and redlines/RFIs if required. Communicate needs for assistance or guidance on technical or labor-related issues. Support technicians with installation questions and troubleshooting. Complexity: This technician level performs tasks independently on client sites and coordinates with clients, contractors, and subcontractors. Often serving as the senior field supervisor, this role requires leadership, technical expertise, and strong communication skills. Decision Making Authority: This position frequently works independently and must make sound onsite decisions. While the Project Manager and Site Supervisor are available for support, the technician must act professionally and diplomatically with clients and key stakeholders. Physical Demands: Work may occur on active construction sites with required PPE. The technician may spend 50% or more of the day on foot, navigate ladders and stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds. Safety: Maintain and wear appropriate PPE. Ensure hazards are identified and addressed promptly.
