About The Position

Well Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, who will be accountable for building core infrastructures (compute, storage, database, network, security) that supports the exits from legacy sites and platforms to the new data centers portfolio. You will lead a matrix team of technical delivery experts to identify, plan, and execute enablement of core infrastructure for next gen data center, prioritize build sequences by collaborating with Migration Factory, CIO Sector teams, Application Development, Cyber Security, & Compute Engineering and Operations from their workload migration schedule. The selected candidate will have deep vertical expertise in Compute, Database, Cyber and Network as well as efficiencies with Azure and Google technologies. Detailed assessment of the legacy application portfolio will be completed in collaboration with the Horizontal functions as the exit plan is defined and finalized. You will collaborate and influence across stakeholders: Technology CIO, CTO, and Line of Business (LOB) Senior Managers & Individual contributors, architecture leaders, and engineering leaders in the Application Development, Cyber, Operations, and CTO organizations. The ability to persuade Managers, and individual contributors and the courage to have direct conversations is essential. This is a top five WF Technology Infrastructure priority within the Digital Infrastructure Strategy. In addition to exits, this role will lead the delivery of the core infrastructure services within the four new data centers ($1BN+ investment spanning over 10+ years impacting all Wells Fargo businesses and critical services). This is an exciting, complex, challenging, and rewarding role. In this role you will: Define Data Center Core infrastructure build strategy Define EOVS migration strategies: Swing active workload to backup site while primary site is migrated, P-to-V, V-to-V Mitigate risks associated with dependencies and ensure proper sequencing of events Develop and maintain an integrated exit, build, and exit roadmap with execution schedules Align EOVS migration plans to major code releases to leverage Sector's already planned checkout/verification activities Conduct testing to ensure that the systems work as expected Define multiple data migration strategies and use cases: database, object, NAS, backup, unstructured user data Mitigate Risk concentration. Spread out migrations over different timeframes, i.e., do not migrate core Retail Banking & Cards applications in the same timeframe Identify non-standard hosting solutions, define migration strategy: Unisys, Teradata, iSeries. Assess multi-tenancy apps, ensure necessary resilience and capacity is built in target sites. Requires approach for applications and shared services Leverage site design for improved resilience and higher levels of workload (increased densification on host platforms) Manage delivery tower engineers, target data center landing zone infrastructure builds. Ensure Wells technology standards, design principles, and architecture standards are followed

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years leading in a large data center distributed server environment within a financial institution
  • 5+ years of delivery experience with a proven track record of success
  • 5+ years of software and/or Cloud engineering and/or operational experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Large scale enterprise data center and/or application exit experience
  • Infrastructure Services experience (compute, network, storage, firewall)
  • Detailed working knowledge on hypervisors and containers. In-depth experience on building OpenShift platform
  • Effective communication of complex topics to customers and/or business executives
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship building skills
  • Experience with Agile practices
  • Proficient with regulatory and auditor collaboration
  • Ability to make decisions quickly in a high-volume hosting environment
  • Ability to solve complex problems and analyze issues
  • Ability to drive flawless execution
