About The Position

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a Night PRN Nurse Supervisor to join our team. The House Supervisor is a member of the Nursing Leadership Team and has administrative and clinical responsibility for the functioning of nursing services for the facility in the absence of or directed by the ADON/CNO. The House Supervisor also provides administrative guidance and oversight for the entire campus and departments when department managers are off site. (Generally evenings, nights and weekends). Providing leadership and role modeling for assigned staff. Supervises direct patient care, assessments and crisis management. Ensures environmental safety for the patient population. Provide training and education to staff, patients, and families. Under the supervision/guidance of CNO/ADON, conduct performance evaluation of designated staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience with adults and/or adolescents preferred
  • 1 year of progressive expereicen in management and/or supervision
  • Current Pennsylvania State Registered Nurse License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Handle with Care Certification
  • Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses & Intervention with patients
  • Knowledge of milieu management
  • Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adolescents and adults.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a high school diploma or equivalent. Bacehlors degree preferred
  • Prefer prior hospital and staffing experience
  • Prefer knowledge base of clinical needs for staffing purposes
  • Computer skills including wrod, processing, and spreadsheet programs
