About The Position

Sutherland is looking for a skilled General Ledger Accountant to join one of our growing retail programs working out of our client site in Chesapeake, VA.

A General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that all financial data from stores, inventory systems, POS systems, AP/AR, and payroll flows accurately into the general ledger, enabling correct financial reporting.

Requirements

• 5-8+ years of experience as a General Ledger Accountant
• Lawson ERP knowledge/experience
• A customer-oriented attitude, handling first level of communications and issues
• Capacity to efficiently manage time and keep track of multiple schedules,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
• Must work onsite in Chesapeake VA

Nice To Haves

• Accounting experience supporting the retail industry will be a major plus
