They are expected to leverage an understanding of application development theory, concepts and best practices to provide the most ideal solution to the challenges presented. Applications are typically developed collaboratively within a team; most teams are responsible for the support of several applications simultaneously. Development teams within the Business Software Engineering organization apply the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to deliver solutions. Communication and presentation skills become a necessity in this space as ideas must be regularly shared between both team members and business stakeholders (that may have limited understanding of technical concepts). Application developers are expected to develop a basic understanding of the underlying processes that a business application might support.

Requirements

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Front-end development experience with technologies such as: HTML, Bootstrap, CSS, Angular, AngularJS, Typescript, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON
Back-end development experience with technologies such as: Java, .NET, python, RESTful web services, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, JUnit
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

Database design and query experience with Oracle, MariaDB (MySQL), and/or SQL Server
Experience with agile software development (and CI/CD practices)
Working knowledge of Java EE design patterns and YAML

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain technical solutions in collaboration with customers, solution architects, and peers.
Present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Assist team members with implementing solutions and troubleshooting technical issues.
Develop an understanding of business processes and contribute to functional requirement documentation.
