About The Position

Position Summary Responsible for overseeing daily operations at the Rail Transfer Facility (RTF), ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant unloading, handling, and transportation of rail-delivered materials. This role leads operational activities, coordinates equipment and personnel, maintains regulatory compliance, and ensures the facility and equipment are properly maintained. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the Rail Transfer Facility, ensuring productivity, safety, and regulatory compliance. Accept inbound rail cars and conduct pre-unloading inspections to identify and document any damages. Position rail cars for unloading using a Track Mobile. Unload rail cars using available RTF equipment, including I‑Vac systems, loaders, and other material-handling equipment. Coordinate additional equipment needs by scheduling transport from USET or procuring third-party services (e.g., cranes, sky trackers, excavators). Supervise and direct additional employees during loading and unloading operations as required. Perform radiation monitoring and documentation on each roll-off box containing NORM material. Schedule delivery of empty roll-off boxes from USET or third-party vendors for loading operations. Ensure all roll-off boxes are properly labeled with required hazardous material and DOT labels. Repair, line, and prepare roll-off boxes for use, including installing liners, tarps, bows, and securing with boomers. Coordinate transportation of loaded boxes to USET in collaboration with Transportation, Inventory, and Customer Service teams. Verify that all manifests, shipping documents, and regulatory paperwork are accurate and complete prior to shipment, including preparing fingerprint samples as required. Scale trucks in and out to ensure accurate load documentation. Release rail cars back to UPRR following unloading and conduct post-unloading damage inspections. Maintain inventory of safety equipment, fuel, and operational supplies necessary for facility operations. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on facility equipment. Maintain overall cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the Rail Transfer Facility.
