About The Position

The Lead Food Server is responsible for overseeing daily dining room operations, ensuring high-quality meal service, and maintaining a welcoming environment for residents. This role supports the Dining Services Manager by ensuring that daily tasks are completed efficiently, dining service standards are met, and all resident needs are addressed. In the absence of the manager, the Lead Food Server serves as the primary point of contact for staff, residents, and guests.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and carry trays or supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the setup, service, and cleanup of all meals in the dining room.
  • Ensure dining room cleanliness, organization, and table settings meet facility standards.
  • Monitor food presentation and portion control for consistency.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for dining staff during shifts when the manager is absent.
  • Assign and monitor daily tasks for servers and dietary aides.
  • Provide on-the-job guidance, training, and support to team members.
  • Greet residents and guests in a warm and professional manner.
  • Respond promptly to resident requests, concerns, and special dietary needs.
  • Foster a positive and respectful dining atmosphere.
  • Ensure adherence to sanitation, food safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Report equipment or maintenance issues promptly to the Dining Services Manager.
  • Follow all dietary restrictions, menu guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain communication logs and report updates to the Dining Services Manager.
