About The Position

As a Lead Field Service Tech (Building Automation Systems AND Fire Alarm Systems) for our service team in Atlanta, you’ll play a critical role in servicing and optimizing building automation systems—including fire —across commercial facilities like pharmaceutical companies, local government buildings, universities and hospitals as well as government agencies and military installations. You will be tasked with responding and resolving complex service calls providing technical support and troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. These customers will have various products installed that fall into fire systems category as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to ensure system up-time and efficiency. You will report directly to our Sr. Field Service Supervisor in Atlanta, GA. Key Responsibilities Commission Honeywell BAS solutions by installing pre-engineered software, performing system checkouts, and ensuring accurate system operation per specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, including redesign or re-engineering when needed. Execute open system and third-party integrations across multiple protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, LON). Drive continuous improvement in commissioning practices by leveraging Honeywell Operating System techniques and productivity tools. Collaborate with contractors, customers, and design/engineering teams to ensure proper scope alignment, hardware/software configuration, graphics, and as-built documentation. Support project and sales teams by conducting surveys, identifying retrofit opportunities, and presenting high-level integrated solutions to customers and consultants. Perform hazard and risk assessments in line with Honeywell safety policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain clear, accurate documentation and project records throughout the lifecycle. You will follow a Monday through Friday schedule, traveling to customer sites within a 1.5 hour drive from your home location. You will be provided with a company vehicle, phone, laptop and expense card ( for tools and PPE allowance).

Requirements

  • 3 years minimum experience of proven building automation and fire alarm system service, repair, install experience
  • NICET LEVEL I Certification
  • Able to prepare for and test NICET LEVEL II certification
  • Basic knowledge of fire alarm system codes, NFPA guidelines, device use and functions for fire alarm applications
  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to Honeywell
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in relevant fire alarm technologies
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and people-oriented customer facing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree from Technical College
  • Commodity Pool Operator (CPO) Internal Control experience
  • Technical Training or equivalent field experience
