About The Position

Lead Facilities Technician Position Summary Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, Standard Hours 100% on-site Join Catalent’s flagship softgel development and manufacturing facility in North America, located in St. Petersburg, FL, with a capacity of 18 billion capsules per year. As a Lead Facilities Technician, you’ll be a part of our Engineering department performing and providing training support on a variety of advanced skilled maintenance on utilities systems in support of the larger manufacturing organization; including but not limited to electrical trades, HVAC repair, painting and water system maintenance. The Role Utilizes advanced mechanical and electrical skills to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs autonomously. Performs complex, time-critical equipment rebuilds, repairs, and upgrades; manages and escorts contractors/vendors as needed. Uses advanced troubleshooting tools (Data Historian, SCADA, Process Control Systems) and root-cause methodologies (5-Whys, fishbone, fault tree). Works independently on a broad range of difficult problems within established policies, procedures, and GMP requirements. Gains and maintains full operational knowledge of all facility systems for safe and effective troubleshooting. Coaches and mentors technicians; provides training on equipment setup, operation, changeovers, safety, and maintenance practices. Accurately analyzes equipment schematics, maintains spare parts inventory, and submits emergency part purchase requests. Supports planning, scoping, and estimating of maintenance projects, ensuring timely execution of complex jobs. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; or High School diploma and 9+ years of relevant experience or technical or vocational training
  • Possesses advanced electrical and/or mechanical skills and education.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; no lifting greater than 40.09 pounds without assistance.
  • Be accessible to the manufacturing floor and office staff and use the required office equipment.
  • Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Electrician preferred
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) preferred.
  • Highly skilled and / or certified in multiple trades preferred
