About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leading fleet maintenance company, is seeking a skilled Lean Fabrication /Upfitter Technician. This role involves installing various emergency vehicle equipment such as lightbars, warning lights, sirens, radio and communication systems, consoles, partitions, gun racks, push bumpers, storage systems, cameras, MDT mounts, printers, and auxiliary electronics. The technician will be responsible for 12V electrical wiring, circuit routing, and component mounting. Key tasks include reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation instructions, as well as drilling, cutting, mounting, and fabricating parts for vehicle upfitting. The position also requires troubleshooting electrical and mechanical installation issues, testing all installed equipment for proper operation and safety compliance, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Accurate completion of work orders, installation checklists, and documentation is essential, along with adherence to company safety procedures and manufacturer installation standards. The technician will collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Install emergency vehicle equipment including: Lightbars, warning lights, and sirens
  • Install radio and communication systems
  • Install consoles, partitions, gun racks, push bumpers, and storage systems
  • Install cameras, MDT mounts, printers, and auxiliary electronics
  • Perform 12V electrical wiring, circuit routing, and component mounting
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation instructions
  • Drill, cut, mount, and fabricate parts as needed for vehicle upfitting
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical installation issues
  • Test all installed equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and installation materials
  • Complete work orders, installation checklists, and documentation accurately
  • Follow company safety procedures and manufacturer installation standards
  • Work with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality expectations
